"Votes for women" fan, [ca. 1916].

Square cardboard fan, off-white with black lettering, on a wooden stick. The text on one side reads: "Keep cool! There will be nothing to worry about after we get votes for women, Election Day November 2. Massachusetts Woman Suffrage Association." On the other side is a map of the United States, showing the status of women's suffrage in each state. The caption reads, "If the men of the West trust their women with the ballot--why can't the women of Massachusetts be trusted? Suffrage spreads from State to neighbor State. This proves it a success. Vote 'Yes' November 2." Creased, with rounded corners and some stains; "Call Mrs. Day" is written in pencil on one side. Housed in a stiff folder, 40 x 26 cm.
